Bio

Zenas Ubere is a Nigerian writer and editor. A Pushcart Prize nominee, his writings appear in ArtReview, Brick, Gordon Square Review, The Forge Literary, and elsewhere. He was longlisted for the 2023 Isele Magazine Nonfiction Prize and shortlisted in the nonfiction category for the inaugural Akuko Literary Prize.
An alumnus of the SBMEN & Goethe Institut Art Writing and Criticism Workshop, he was selected for the 2024 editorial fellowship at Tender Photos and the 2025 Tender Visions commissioning project for writers and photographers.
His work has received support from Africa No Filter, Angels and Muse, the Ebedi International Writers’ Residency, and the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora (LOATAD). He is the coordinator of Lolwe Academy, where he organises creative writing masterclasses, classes, and workshops.
